As we reflect on the past year at Kyra, it’s clear that our journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Celebrating our 10th anniversary was a milestone that not only commemorated a decade of empowering women but also reinforced our commitment to fostering change and growth.

Our achievements over the past year have been a testament to the strength and resilience of the women we support, and we’re proud to share these moments with you.

One of our standout events was being named Runner Up at the York Minster Christmas Tree Festival, a recognition that highlighted our community’s creativity and spirit. The premiere of “The Stories You Want To Tell” at York Theatre Royal was another highlight, offering a platform for the voices of the women we support to be heard and celebrated.

Our members crafted a special Diamond Jubilee Wall Hanging at the Castle Museum and the York Museums Trust Fossil Hunting Trip showcased our commitment to engaging with our heritage and the natural world, fostering a sense of belonging and discovery.

The Craft Group’s creation of the ‘10 Years’ Wall Hanging was a beautiful representation of our journey, woven together with the stories and achievements of the women at Kyra.

Our fundraising efforts this year were nothing short of inspiring. From the endurance-testing 10 Miles a Day for 10 Days Bike Ride by Caroline to the spirited Games at the YRLFC Women’s Day Match, each event brought our community together in support of our mission.

The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge and York Marathon tested our physical limits, while the Christmas Market Chalet brought the warmth of the Kyra spirit to the heart of the holiday season.

Each of these events not only raised crucial funds for our programs but also spread awareness of the vital work we do.

As we look back on this year, we are filled with gratitude for the support, dedication, and passion of everyone who has been part of our journey.

Kyra is more than just a charity; it’s a beacon of hope and a source of strength for women seeking to make positive changes in their lives. Here’s to another year of making a difference, together. Thank you for being a part of our story.
