Our Strategy
The Kyra Board of Trustees adopted a new 5 year strategy in December 2020, after consultation with all Kyra colleagues.
The key elements of this are:
Strengthening foundations
Expanding services
Improving outcomes
Protecting values
Fulfilling the mission
Our vision:
A society where women feel safe, valued and able to fulfil their potential; where they are respected and free to be themselves, and where their contributions to the wider society are recognised
Our mission:
‘Kyra supports women in York and the surrounding area to change their lives for the better, by providing a holistic, non-medical approach, to support and empower women to make positive change in a safe, women-only environment.’
Our values are:
EMPOWER GROWTH | INTEGRITY | INCLUSIVE AND BELONGING | COMPASSIONATE | COLLABORATIVE CONNECTIONS
Kyra’s Women Project operates according to the 5 core values:
• We empower and support personal growth
We believe in and facilitate personal growth and wellbeing. We work to empower people who need our support. We inspire and encourage innovation, adaptability, resourcefulness, self-awareness and skills development. We have fun together.
• We act with integrity
We as an organisation and we as individuals within it are open, act with honesty and willing to listen. We aim to do the right thing first time. We are proactive, effective, efficient, agile and flexible, ensuring we work in the most appropriate way. We are confident and accountable for our words and actions. We communicate clearly, openly and assertively.
• We are inclusive and promote the importance of belonging
We are focussed on equality, inclusiveness and wellbeing. We are non-judgemental, open-minded, fair and humble. We create and offer a safe space and a community where people can be themselves – who they are rather than who others want them to be. We are welcoming to all who need our support or want to work with us to help people. We actively engage and listen, and we involve people in everything we do.
• We are compassionate
We work with respect and compassion. We are kind and there for one another and for the people we support in good times and in bad. We are person-centred and caring. We promote equality and inclusion through everything we do.
• We invest our time and effort in establishing and maintaining collaborative connections to help people, to contribute to the wider community and to sustain our organisation.
We work together with our partners. We work collaboratively, taking time to engage, develop, share and support. We are keen to work with others to support the individual and the community. We believe that collaboration and coproduction with individuals, community and organisations are the best way to support people in an optimal manner. We are willing to share knowledge, know-how, ideas, information, resources and effort. We link people, ideas, communities. We advocate and champion positive change, network and connect with colleagues outside our organisation. We have a solid reputation, inspirational history and a vast array of expertise, experience, insight and influence that we use to help improve people’s lives and wellbeing.
