The Arnold Clark Community Fund has generously donated £500 to support the Kyra Women’s Group walking group.

Led by experienced volunteers, the group meets at Kyra on Thursday and Saturday mornings before setting off on a three mile trip around York and the surrounding area. The members benefit not only from exercise and fresh air but also from the companionship and conversation of the group.

Elaine, one of the group volunteer leaders says: “The Walking Group is really delighted at the news. Members are excited and will be discussing the details of how to extend and enhance the quality of the walks. It means the group can be more adventurous and go further afield to enhance the current companionship opportunities and extend the range of walks – and so increasing the physical benefits”.

One member of the group said: “I haven’t been on a bus for several years – it would really build my confidence to do this with the group.”

Thank you to Arnold Clark for making these new adventures possible!
