Kyra and the Rose group are delighted to celebrate Beth Moulam, a cherished ROSE member, for her incredible achievement in winning the Grassroots Community Advocate category at the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100 Awards.

This esteemed award recognises Beth as one of the UK’s top 10 disabled influencers, celebrating her groundbreaking advocacy and inspiring leadership.

About the Disability Power 100 Award

The Shaw Trust Disability Power 100 is the UK’s premier recognition for disabled leaders, trailblazers, and changemakers. This award challenges perceptions and tackles the disability employment gap by amplifying the talents and voices of disabled individuals.

Beth’s win highlights her exceptional leadership and advocacy for augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) users, a cause she’s passionately championed through her work with Kyra and beyond.

Beth’s Journey and Achievements

Beth Moulam’s passion for empowering augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) users began early, sparked at age four when she received her first communication aid. By 18, she was presenting findings at the European Parliament, solidifying her drive to use policy and advocacy to influence change for those with complex communication needs.

After representing GB at the Tokyo Paralympics, Beth transitioned from elite sport to advocacy, becoming a leading voice for AAC awareness. Her recent achievements include receiving an honorary doctorate in health from Manchester Metropolitan University for her advocacy and Paralympic success, serving as a Trustee for Communication Matters, and acting as Patron of 1 Voice.

Beth’s ultimate goal remains clear: to create greater awareness of AAC, inspire the next generation of disabled leaders, and champion a more inclusive world for all.
