Kyra Women’s Project welcomed the crowds on Wednesday at its first face-to-face International Women’s Day for two years. The event was opened by the Lady Mayoress of York, Joy Cullwick, pictured above with the Sheriff’s Lady Danielle Mason, stand-holder Flame Teale (l) and Kyra volunteer Yasmin Hussein (r). The event featured stands from local charities and businesses, the raffle of a piece of wall art created by Kyra’s members, a display of cheerleading from students at York St John’s University, and bikes being fixed by the Everybody’s Cycling’s Bike Doctor.

Rosemary Cook, Kyra’s CEO said: “It was just wonderful to have people coming back to a face to face event – I hope for some visitors this will be the start of an on-going relationship with Kyra to help them make positive changes in their lives. We are really grateful to Akemi Associates who sponsored the day for helping us make this event work for so many people.”
