Why Eleanor Joined Kyra
While studying psychology at the University of York, Eleanor volunteered at Kyra for two years and saw just how much the charity impacts women’s lives. Inspired by the supportive and welcoming community, she knew she wanted to contribute more and soon joined the team as Fundraising Partnership Officer.
What Does a Fundraising Partnership Officer Do?
As Kyra’s Fundraising Partnership Officer, Eleanor’s role involves building relationships with businesses, universities, and organisations to secure the funding and resources that keep Kyra’s programs running.
She does this by researching potential partners, reaching out to local businesses, and creating tailored proposals that highlight Kyra’s impact in York. Eleanor’s role is vital for ensuring Kyra’s financial stability, allowing Kyra to consistently offer support to our members through every challenge they face.
Current Projects Eleanor is Working On
Eleanor is currently organising a focus group with Kyra members to gather feedback about their experiences. By collecting both qualitative and quantitative data, she aims to demonstrate Kyra’s impact when approaching potential new partners for funding.
Eleanor’s also working on a University Ambassador Project, building relationships with university societies like the James College Netball Team, who raised £1,000 for Kyra in April. She’s reaching out to societies such as Femsoc and Mental Health Awareness to strengthen these efforts, building strong connections to boost Kyra’s fundraising and outreach.

Hopes for the Future
