The first five businesses in York who will act as Kyra workplace Ambassadors were announced on Monday at the launch of the scheme. Around a dozen business people gathered at Kyra’s St Saviourgate premises to either receive their certificates, or to learn more about the scheme which is funded by the National Lottery Awards for All programme. Ambassadors are organisations that, with training and support from Kyra, can signpost women colleagues, customers or clients to the support that the charity offers. The first to sign up to the scheme were:
The Hearing Place York – ear wax removal, hearing aids and custom-made ear protection
Indigo Greens – female led estate agency
Dunnington Motor Care – Part of the UKs Female friendly garage network
Tower Veterinary Group – serving pets and their owners across York & Knaresborough
Angie Taylor – Entrepreneur and Tutor with Family Learning for York City Council
Claire Cutler-Casey, who leads the project, said: “‘It can be difficult for businesses when their clients and customers need support beyond that which the business can provide, so buddying up with them enables a seamless signposting journey for those women to access all the support and activities available at Kyra.”
