The ‘tree of life’ wall hanging created by Kyra members has gone on display at the Castle Museum in York. The hanging, which depicts a tree with branches bearing tributes to Kyra’s support for women, was designed and created by women who come to Kyra as part of the Jubilee celebrations earlier this year. Unveiled by Kyra’s Patron, Dame Penelope Wilton, at a Jubilee party, the hanging is usually found on the walls of the drop-in room at Kyra’s city centre premises.

But thanks to a partnership with York Museums Trust, the hanging will be available for the public to view in the entrance to the Castle Museum until Christmas.

Rosemary Cook, Kyra CEO, said: “We are delighted to share this lovely piece of work by our members with the wider public. The tree symbolises strength, resilience and staying power, which was exemplified by the late Queen as well as by our members in their everyday lives.”
