Meet Molly Charnock, one of Kyra’s dedicated team members with a background in Psychology from the University of York. Molly is the project manager for the Route to Recovery initiative, where she’s making a profound impact on women’s lives. In this blog, we’ll explore Molly’s vital work on this project and her role in promoting wellbeing within our community.
Molly’s Role in the Route to Recovery Project
Molly plays a pivotal role in Kyra’s Route to Recovery project, a four-year initiative aimed at helping 240 women recover from domestic abuse or mental ill health. As the project manager, Molly’s responsible for identifying and welcoming participants, creating tailored support pathways, and ensuring a full schedule of sessions is available. This includes everything from counselling and mentoring to confidence-building and assertiveness courses.
Molly’s dedication is evident in the transformations she helps facilitate. As one participant shared:
“I have completed all of the courses I wanted to attend for now on my R2R journey. Thank you once again for your kindness and support. I’m a completely different person now!”
Healing and Empowerment Through the Route to Recovery Project
Mental ill health and domestic abuse can have devastating effects on women, both in the short term and over the long haul. These experiences can lead to lasting trauma, impacting everything from self-esteem to overall mental and physical health. That’s why intervention is so crucial.
The Route to Recovery project plays an active role in offering women the support they need to heal and regain control of their lives. Through counselling, mentoring, and other tailored programs, the project helps participants rebuild their confidence and find a path forward.
Molly’s dedication and expertise are central to the programme’s success, ensuring that each woman receives the compassionate and effective support she deserves.
Wellbeing Wednesdays
In addition to her broader responsibilities within the Route to Recovery project, Molly also leads our Wellbeing Wednesdays group, which is an integral part of this initiative. Meeting at the Friargate Quaker meeting hall, Wellbeing Wednesdays offers a range of activities designed to promote emotional and physical wellbeing, including crafting, reflexology, expressive writing, and sound meditation.
These sessions are a vital component of the Route to Recovery programme, providing participants with a chance to relax, socialize, and learn new skills in a supportive environment.
